Measure how visible your website is across Google, answer engines, and AI search like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity. Get your readiness score and a prioritized action plan in under a minute.
Starting audit…
AI search readiness is how easily search engines and AI systems such as Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity can crawl, understand, trust and cite your website. A ready site lets AI crawlers in, serves its main content in plain HTML, answers questions clearly, and backs them up with structured data and visible expertise.
Get a clear picture of your AI visibility in four steps and about two minutes.
Paste the page you want to test, usually your homepage or a key service page. The checker reads the live HTML, robots.txt, sitemap and llms.txt for that site.
Add your brand name, target location and industry. These help the checker judge brand signals and local relevance more accurately.
Click Analyze my website. In under a minute you get an overall AI search readiness score, four pillar scores for SEO, AEO, GEO and AI visibility, and seven detailed analysis tabs.
Work through the recommendations from critical to low priority, then run the checker again to confirm your score has improved. Download the PDF report to share the plan with your team.
The AI Search Readiness Checker measures how discoverable, structured, and citable your website is across traditional search engines and the new generation of AI answer engines, then tells you exactly what to fix first.
Generative engine optimization: the entity and authority signals AI trusts.
LLM optimization guideHow ready your pages are to be read and cited by AI search systems.
AI Search OptimizationEvery audit breaks down into seven focused areas, each with pass, warning, and fail checks plus clear guidance.
We check titles, meta descriptions, heading structure, canonical tags, indexability, mobile readiness, image alt text, sitemaps, HTTPS, and response speed so you know your fundamentals are sound.
We look for FAQ and Q&A schema, question-based headings, concise direct answers, lists and tables, and content depth, the signals that win featured snippets and voice answers.
We evaluate Organization schema, sameAs profiles, author signals, outbound citations, brand presence, and internal linking, the entity and authority cues generative engines rely on.
We assess AI crawler access in robots.txt, server-rendered content, machine-readable structured data, semantic structure, freshness signals, and llms.txt readiness.
We detect which structured data types are present and which high-value types are missing, from Organization and Article to FAQPage and BreadcrumbList.
We check for the experience, expertise, authoritativeness, and trust signals that both Google and AI systems weigh, such as about, contact, author, and review pages.
We review LocalBusiness schema, consistent name, address and phone details, and target location relevance so you show up in local and map results.
If robots.txt blocks these user agents, the matching AI product cannot read your pages. The checker flags any crawler that is blocked from your whole site, so you can decide which ones to allow.
| User agent | Company | What it does |
|---|---|---|
GPTBot |
OpenAI | Collects public content that may be used to train OpenAI models. |
OAI-SearchBot |
OpenAI | Finds and indexes pages so they can appear in ChatGPT search results. |
ChatGPT-User |
OpenAI | Visits a page when a ChatGPT user asks it to read or act on that page. |
ClaudeBot |
Anthropic | Collects public content that may be used to train Claude models. |
Claude-SearchBot |
Anthropic | Indexes pages to improve the quality of search results in Claude. |
PerplexityBot |
Perplexity | Indexes pages so they can be surfaced and linked in Perplexity answers. |
Google-Extended |
A control token for Gemini training and grounding. It does not affect Google Search or AI Overviews eligibility. | |
Bingbot |
Microsoft | Builds the Bing index, which Microsoft Copilot draws on for answers. |
Applebot-Extended |
Apple | Controls whether content can be used to train Apple generative models. |
Tip: blocking training crawlers such as GPTBot or ClaudeBot while allowing search crawlers such as OAI-SearchBot and Claude-SearchBot is a common middle ground. Your content stays out of model training but can still be cited in AI search answers.
Findings are ranked by impact so you always know what to do next. Here is how the checker organizes your action plan.
Critical blockers such as a noindex tag, blocked AI crawlers, or missing core schema that stop you ranking or being cited.
Meaningful gaps like weak answer formatting, thin content, or limited internal linking that hold back visibility.
Lower-effort wins such as adding llms.txt, exposing content dates, or citing authoritative sources.
Each recommendation expands into plain-language steps your team or developer can act on immediately.
Benchmark your AI readiness against where leaders in your space already are, so you know how much ground there is to make up.
See where small structural changes can unlock outsized gains in answer engines and AI overviews.
Identify the questions and topics your pages do not yet answer clearly enough to be cited by AI systems.

These are the fixes that move the score most often. Start at the top and re-run the checker after each change.
Search behavior is shifting fast. People increasingly get answers directly from AI systems like Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Copilot, often without clicking a single blue link. If your content is not structured for these systems to read and trust, you can rank well in traditional search and still be invisible where decisions are now being made.
Answer engines extract concise, well-structured responses from pages they can crawl and parse. Large language models favor content that is clearly written, supported by credible signals, marked up with structured data, and accessible to their crawlers. When your page meets these conditions, it becomes a candidate to be summarized and cited in an AI answer.
Being named as a source inside an AI answer builds authority and sends qualified visitors who already trust the recommendation. As zero-click answers grow, these citations are becoming as valuable as a top organic ranking, and they compound the same way good SEO does.
The fundamentals that make a page great for AI are the same ones that make it great for people: fast, accessible pages, clear answers, honest expertise, and clean structured data. The AI Search Readiness Checker shows you exactly where you stand on all of them, then hands you a prioritized plan to improve.
It is a free tool that analyzes your website and scores how ready it is to be found and cited across traditional search and AI answer engines. It evaluates SEO, AEO, GEO and AI visibility, then gives you prioritized recommendations.
Regular SEO focuses on ranking in search results. AI search readiness also measures whether engines can extract direct answers from your content and whether AI systems can read, trust and cite it. The checker covers both.
Yes. You can run an audit and view your scores and recommendations for free, with no signup. You only share your details if you want the downloadable PDF report.
AEO (answer engine optimization) makes your content easy to lift as a direct answer, for example in featured snippets and voice results. GEO (generative engine optimization) builds the entity, authority and trust signals that make AI systems such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity comfortable citing your brand in generated answers.
Allow the AI crawlers you want in robots.txt, keep key content in the raw HTML, add structured data, write clear and concise answers, show authorship and dates, and keep content fresh. The checker tells you which of these apply to your site.
There is no special markup for AI Overviews. Google says pages must be indexed and eligible to show a snippet in Search, so focus on solid SEO fundamentals, helpful content that directly answers the question, clear headings and accurate structured data. Blocking Google-Extended does not remove you from AI Overviews.
llms.txt is a proposed file placed at the root of a website that lists its most important pages in plain Markdown for large language models. It is optional, and major AI search engines have not confirmed that they use it, so the checker treats it as a low-priority extra rather than a ranking factor.
Structured data does not guarantee a citation, but it describes your organization, content, authors, products and FAQs in a machine-readable way. That makes it easier for search engines and AI systems to understand and attribute your content correctly.
No. The AI visibility score is a readiness estimate based on crawl access and on-page structure signals, not a live presence check inside those platforms. It reflects how ready your page is to be discovered and cited by AI systems.
Start with your homepage, then test your most important service, product or location pages. Each audit checks the page you enter plus site-wide files such as robots.txt, your XML sitemap and llms.txt.
Re-run the checker after every significant fix, after a site redesign or migration, and at least once a quarter. AI search features and crawler rules change often, so regular checks catch new blockers early.
